The Tripartitte National Committee for Labor and Social Partnership, jointly established by the Federation of Mongolian Employers, the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Welfare and the Mongolian Confederation of Trade Unions, has revised the minimum monthly wage from 792,000 togrogs to 1,000,000 togrogs.
The decision will be take effect from January 1, 2027.
From January 1, 2027, the personal income tax deduction for all employees and civil servants' salaries and wages will be calculated at the minimum wage, or 1,000,000 tugriks.
In determining the minimum wage, the committee considers factors including:
The population’s minimum standard of living
The ratio of labor productivity to average wages
The minimum pension provided by the Social Insurance Fund
Economic growth and the employment rate
Inflation
The last time a decision was made in October 2024 to increase the minimum wage from 660,000 togrogs to 792,000 togrogs by 20 percent. Thus, two years later, it has been increased by more than 20 percent again, to 1,000,000 togrogs.
