Ulaanbaatar, 19 August 2026 — The Mongolian Nature’s Legacy Foundation signed separate Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Golomt Bank and KHAN Bank to advance cooperation in nature conservation, biodiversity, and sustainable finance.

The signing ceremonies took place during the High-Level Sustainable Finance Forum held as part of COP17, where the parties emphasized the importance of increasing the role of the banking and financial sector and mobilizing private-sector capital and financing toward tangible conservation outcomes.

Under the MoUs, the parties will collaborate to protect biodiversity, strengthen ecosystem resilience, and develop new conservation finance mechanisms and financial products. Areas of cooperation include exploring green financing models linked to sustainable rangeland management, developing financial products that support biodiversity conservation, and integrating nature- and biodiversity-related risks into banking risk management frameworks.

These partnerships marked an important step toward diversifying sources of conservation finance, expanding the financial sector’s engagement, and directing investment toward tangible and measurable conservation outcomes.
